Volunteer application update… placement allocations begin next week!

Thank you to everyone who has contacted us about places with our 2017 teams.

We have been busy reading through all the applications and it has been great to hear from so many people who have worked with us before.  We will begin Skype interviews and placement allocations on January 3rd and the final date for applications is January 31st.

We expect that the groups will fill up quickly so if you would like to join us, don’t miss your chance! Don’t delay sending us your application form. Full placement details can be found on our homepage…

Last summer in pictures…

We have collected together some of our favorite pictures from last season and published them in an album on Pinterest; 2016 Thórmörk Trail Volunteers.

Thank you to our volunteers and friends…

We would like to thank everyone who worked with us and supported us through another great season in Thórsmörk. We hope that you have good memories of your days on the trails, and that you enjoyed your time with us.

It was a summer filled with drain building, digging through rock, long hikes with equipment and the endless carrying of timber to distant work sites… as well as those highland adventures, the great meals we shared and the many evenings we spent around the campfire.

A huge amount was achieved this season and the results speak for themselves. We really feel very lucky to have worked with such great teams – Thank you all!

Our season officially ends today and we will take a short break before recruitment for 2017 begins. Project information, placement details and application forms will be published here on December 15th and we will start the search for our new team…

Four years old this week!

The team’s first work day this season was also the fourth birthday of our programme in Thórsmörk and Goðaland. The day was spent setting up the base camp kitchen, preparing the camp for the summer projects… and lots of cleaning.

After work there was time to celebrate with coffee and chocolate cake 🙂
