Ready to start…

After months of talking and planning we are about to finally get back to Langidalur with a team and begin work on the trails.

Almost as if had been planned, last week’s snow has been replaced by warm days with bright sunshine and perfect camping weather (at least for the next few days).

We are making an early start this season and our first team of volunteers will focus on improving the trail marking ahead of the main tourist season. Several of the popular hiking routes will be colour coded and individual numbers will be added to the markers to help with safety in the area. The GPS mapping and numbering system is part of the pathfinder programme in Thórsmörk.

We are very much looking forward to the arrival of our first team on Sunday and the season ahead.

The first day of summer…

Enjoying the first day of summer and preparing the Langidalur volunteer camp… in between the snow showers.

Gleðilega páska – Happy Easter to you all!

The Langidalur camp is still quiet but will soon be open for business.
Preparations have already begun as this season we are starting early and our first team will be joining us in just 3 weeks time. There is a lot to do in 3 weeks, but we are very much looking forward to meeting the new team and getting started on 7th May.
